Acoustic sound booths integrate wall materials, electrical appliances, and furniture within a compact space, leading to the emission of various chemicals from these materials that severely affect the indoor air quality of the booth. It is a common defect found in most sound booths, posing health risks to users during their presence in the space. To address this issue, HECOR has optimized its design and rigorously selected material suppliers to minimize the emission of harmful substances from the materials used in its products. In September 2024, the ZUM acoustic booth product series passed the UL GREENGUARD certification and received a Gold level rating.
![]() | The GREENGUARD certification is one of the most stringent chemical emissions tests globally, managed by the UL Environment division of Underwriters Laboratories (UL) in the United States. The certification is to evaluate the chemical emissions of products and materials used in indoor spaces. Through strict testing of products, GREENGUARD aims to identify and verify those with lower emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and other harmful chemicals. |
The UL GREENGUARD certification program offers two levels of certification. GREENGUARD Gold adheres to even stricter standards than the standard GREENGUARD certification. For instance, the GREENGUARD certification allows for a total VOC content of 500 μg/m3, which is significantly higher than the GREENGUARD Gold limit of only 220 μg/m3. The Gold standard even checks for other chemicals.
The honor of the ZUM series products achieving Gold Level in UL GREENGUARD certification demonstrates HECOR's commitment to sustainability and creating healthy indoor environments. In the future, HECOR will continue to strive to provide the market with many high-quality, safe space partition products.
